Next Evolution of The Brothers Mikolay

shanerich

Vincent Mikolay lives in Los Angeles and is a working actor/model and strategic consultant with an MBA. He booked today with me to celebrate his brother Bill’s birthday and also as a tribute for life’s journey they’ve each endured and the connection they now share as a result.

Vincent + Bill didn’t always connect and were in fact polar opposites growing up. Bill, 5 years older, was a skater and lived against conformity while Vincent was involved in sports, the jock, the all american kid. It wasn’t until their father passed away that they really reconnected. Both young adults by then, matured, educated, and experiencing the trials of life’s survival; the brothers were suddenly faced with carrying on the family name.

Mikolay 2.0 was born, a generational evolution and the next iteration of a family surviving through the tribulations. Adventurous, Happiness, Love, Respect, and Continuous Self Improvement are just a few of the describing traits. The true meaning of family, the blood and bond, will now and forever live on between these two as they sustain the legacy for generations to come.

Bill is currently a teacher, married, and living happily in Pittsburgh, PA. Happy Birthday good sir.

[About this Shoot: I contacted Vincent about what he wanted to represent for the day. He told me about the story of his brother and his birthday. Since photographing them together wasn't an option, I wanted to convey the emotion of his story.

I did a shoot with two males, standing close with an arm resting on the others shoulder, facing outward on a peak over a view of a city, lights, and landscape. Invoking a feeling of accomplishment, looking back on the past but ready to turn towards the future. Reflection with an air of happiness and love as if to say, we made it.]
