Silhouetted by the Setting Sum
i found a wish coin
washed smooth with
dreams removed.
layed it flat on a granite table,
its matte silver side faced up.
i impressed a thumb print
and voiced the words
the Navajo speak.
the moon cleared midnight
from all past shadows
and said I miss you
with two syllables
that took three years.

[Print Details: This photo was taken at Saguaro National Park in Arizona. The sun was setting and I thought each one of these cactus silhouettes seemed to have a persona. Each subtly saying goodbye before nights darkness left them concealed and never seen again. While you have the choice to present the print in its proper right-side-up position, I recommend the opposite as displayed here.]
