Part retail emporium, part art studio, the Essense Studio is a perfumery owned and operated by Dawn Spencer Hurwitz. She melds her grasp of texture + expression from a fine art background into every fragrance she creates. Hurwitz has been creating scents for nearly 20 years of which have been worn by such starlets as Kate Hudson and Demi Moore.

It’s through her uncanny ability to smell the normally “unsmelt” for which her success is based. She smells textures, color, light, and even YOU. That’s right, a portion of Hurwitz’s services is a Smell & Tell which aims to deliver the right fragrance from the unique smell of your skin.

Years in the making, Dawns newest concept, Limited Editions byParfums des Beaux Arts, are her personal favorites inspired by Art, Artists, Literature, and the gorgeous world around us.
